What started as a burning desire to store all my favorite bacon things found on the web, has quickly led me to realize that…

I DON’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT BACON!

I like bacon, it’s true. I’ve settled on one brand at the moment. And I realize I need to actually go on a bacon quest.

Why?

To discover what it means to really be a Bacon Fanatic.

Beginning the first of the year, I will…

start searching for artisan bacon vs. the store bought bacon I’ve been eating regularly

try the Bacon Explosion™ and give a real report, not just tell you that it’s out there

give reports on the bacon quality at various local restaurants

give reports of bacon sampling while traveling

try on some bacon garments

and whatever else strikes my fancy.

The days of daily posts are gone for now. Instead, I will give you real information from first hand experience.

Unless…it’s something really crazy I want to share.

Hey! It’s MY blog, afterall.

Crap…I just stumbled upon Bacon Flavored Gumballs. Had to share.

This week, I’ve decided to spotlight J&D’s.

Today, I learned about a company that created Bacon flavored envelopes. Just the coolest thing ever! So I trotted on over to http://mmmvelopes.com from an article I read on CNET.com to see what it was all about.

There, I discovered the inventors of Bacon Salt®. I had been forwarded this a while back and had forgotten about it.

The story?

Just and Dave, ‘two regular guys who love grilling and football on Sunday afternoons,’ and shared a love of bacon decided they wanted to make everything taste like bacon.

Can you imagine the joy spread throughout the world? Except for those who don’t eat pork by choice or religious beliefs. But now they can enjoy the taste without the guilt! For those of the Jewish faith, J&D products are Kosher Certified with Kof-K Parve or Kof-K Dairy (see www.kof-k.org for more information.)

With a mission statement of “Everything should taste like bacon,” how can you go wrong?

These guys are BUSY, I tell you. Not only coming up with new products, but also spreading the word on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and coming soon to YouTube! I’ll be watching these guys.

So…bac to Bacon Envelopes:

Oh…heck…they taste like Bacon when you lick ‘em and they have a cool bacon pattern.

Go buy some today (6.99 for a cool pack of 25) and check back tomorrow for another highlight from J&D’s.

Have you seen this yet? Pennywell Farms in England has bred a small breed of pig specifically to allow people to have them as pets.
Check out this video:

You can pick up one of these suckers for a few hundred dollars. A little to pricey to feed them to your dog as a snack.
