Okay, I’m a fan of Wright® Brand, as I’ve stated before. Granted, I haven’t gotten my hands on any artisan bacon yet.

So, here are some interesting recipes AND the videos to go along with them. There is ONE recipe that hasn’t been made into a video yet, and that is Danger Dogs Done Wright®. Check it out. They are EASY to make and quite tasty. I even made them for a recent pot luck.

Seriously, not to harp on a topic, but finding these products has been extremely exciting! I’m placing my order for some stuff this Friday to see if it lives up to my expectations. I’ll be blogging about THAT.

Suffice to say, it’s popcorn…that has a bacon flavor. So instead of gross cheddar or weird kettlecorn…you’ve got…bacon!

Apparently, it started with a request for spreadable bacon.

What followed was six months of eating 20 lbs of bacon and 5 large jars of mayonnaise back and forth until they “tasted the smooth and slightly smoky taste that would henceforth be known as Baconnaise.”

Okay…I’ve GOT to order some of this stuff. I feel the bacon obligation to blog about it, and after Thanksgiving, I’ll be ordering a ton of stuff from them.

Oh man! These guys have done some good.

While at a kosher wedding, they tried talking about the joys of bacon to people who couldn’t eat it.

After many trials, they finally came up with a kosher condiment of bacon flavored goodness.

According to their website, they’ve already been featured on “Good Morning America, ABC News, Daily Candy, NPR, Fox News, and even graced the pages of World Wrestling Entertainment magazine.” And NOW Bacon Fanatic.com.

This week, I’ve decided to spotlight J&D’s.

Today, I learned about a company that created Bacon flavored envelopes. Just the coolest thing ever! So I trotted on over to http://mmmvelopes.com from an article I read on CNET.com to see what it was all about.

There, I discovered the inventors of Bacon Salt®. I had been forwarded this a while back and had forgotten about it.

The story?

Just and Dave, ‘two regular guys who love grilling and football on Sunday afternoons,’ and shared a love of bacon decided they wanted to make everything taste like bacon.

Can you imagine the joy spread throughout the world? Except for those who don’t eat pork by choice or religious beliefs. But now they can enjoy the taste without the guilt! With a mission statement of “Everything should taste like bacon,” how can you go wrong?

You may scoff and think what a terrible combination bacon flavor and alcohol are, but…really…who are you kidding. There are so many flavors of alcohol out there you can find things yummy and gross to each person.

So, we all have our favorite bacon, right? Well, I just have to say that a little less than a year ago I was introduced to bacon I’d never had before. Now before I say how great it is or what brand it is, let me clarify that I was introduced through my job. Additionally, I was one of a group that worked on the website redesign.

Am I financially biased? HECK NO! I was raised with the belief “If you can’t say something good, don’t say anything at all.” Not the most prudent of maxims if you’re a journalist…but I’m a blogger. So I can say anything I want. And better not to say anything bad since that just opens you up for libel if you don’t have your facts straight.

So, back to the bacon (which is what this is all about)!

The bacon in question? Wright® Brand Bacon!

All I’m saying is that this stuff IS big, thick and hearty. I haven’t eaten ANY other bacon since I tried it (unless it’s all that’s available where I’m eating). It comes in four different flavors;

• Naturally Hardwood Smoked Bacon (my fav!)
• Maple Flavored Bacon
• Applewood Bacon
• Peppered Bacon

My personal favorite way to cook bacon is on a cookie sheet in the oven at about 350 degrees until crisp (a trick I learned from my dad (see photo in previous article). Turn about halfway through cooking and it comes out nice and flat.
